To my clients, friends, and colleagues,

I’m reaching out today to let you know that at the end of this year, I will be retiring from my position as Bank President. Farmers & Stockmens Bank has been like a home away from home since 1986 when I started as a loan officer. This is a bittersweet announcement for me to make as I have thoroughly enjoyed the last 30+ years with the bank, our incredible employees, and our loyal customers.

Even though I’ll be retiring from my position as President, I will still be involved with the bank in a few ways. For one, I will maintain my position on the Bank’s Board of Directors. Additionally, while I will not be in the office every day, you can’t get rid of me yet! You’ll still see me around from time to time throughout 2021, as I work through transitions on a few ongoing projects.

I am looking forward to retirement and know that I am leaving you all in the very capable hands of Jordan Ward. I’ve been working with, and mentoring, Jordan to take over the position of Bank President for the past two years. Jordan also completed the Graduate Banking School at CU, Boulder which has helped him hone his skills to keep the bank moving forward. Additionally, our banking team remains strong with the long-time industry experience of team members like Nick Diller and Lynette Keeth.

I cannot express how much I appreciate the continued loyalty, trust, and confidence from the community over these past 30+ years.  We’ve navigated ups and downs within the community, changes of ownership, and most recently – a global pandemic, but you’ve stuck with us through it all and I will forever be grateful for that.

While I did not specifically plan to retire in the same year as our Centennial celebration, I believe it’s a fitting choice. The additional services that the bank has brought to the community, and the current capital strength of the bank, is 10-fold what it was 30 years ago, and a huge part of that is due to the hard work and commitment of the employees and ownership team. I’m retiring knowing that we have a bright future ahead of us.

I’m looking forward to these last few months as a full-time employee of the bank, and if you have any questions about the transition, please reach out to me or Jordan.

Thank you again for everything,

Larry R. Fluhman

President, Farmers & Stockmens Bank
